President to leave his post at the end of academic year

Although the new academic year at AAU greeted students and faculty with fresh innovations, such as the change of the school logo and name, it also has marked the beginning of the final year of President Joseph Drew's presidency. Drew said he would leave in June 2004, when he will have been at his position for three years.

Wales partnership possible

Diplomas received in AAU's legal studies program may soon be validated by the University of Wales, a British institution of higher learning that has campuses in Swansea and elsewhere.

Enrollment is up

AAU's fall enrollment is up, with 344 students signing up for classes, compared with 325 for the same semester last year.

Getting serious

Mirka Klenova, new head of the AAU Student Council, says the group hopes to restore the council's former image by focusing on students' academic needs while continuing to organize social events.

Opinion
